Psychoeducational evaluations help identify whether your child may benefit from additional academic support via the recommendation of formal accommodations. Once testing is completed by your child’s psychologist and there is a clear understanding of their unique learning profile, recommendations for accommodations and/or interventions may be provided.

Areas of recommendation and support include:

-Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services and implementation or revision of a Section 504 or Individual Education Plan (IEP)

-Academic accommodations such as extended testing time, individualized instruction, classroom modifications, etc.

-College and Standardized Testing accommodations such as extended time on the PSAT/SAT, ACT, and GRE/MCAT and course substitution(s).

-Academic advocacy: while psychologists do not take the place of “educational advocates”, we regularly support parents, educate them of their rights, attend school/ESE team meetings, and provide additional resources when warranted.
