The transition to parenthood is a transformational period in ones life. Bringing Baby Home® is a research-based program developed by The Gottman Institute, to help prepare new parents to life with a new baby.

Dr. DenBoer is a Bringing Baby Home® Educator. During this program, Dr. DenBoer will teach families about the transition to parenthood by providing scientific research with specific skill-sets and research using the BBH curriculum. Unlike traditional classes parents attend before their baby arrives that teach birthing techniques and childcare skills, BBH focuses on the couples’ relationship first. BBH believes that the relationship satisfaction of a child’s caretakers are important tenants to promoting positive parent-baby interactions. Goals of the BBH workshop include learning ways to: maintain relationship satisfaction after having a baby, reduce relationship hostility and increase affection, and promote positive parent-baby interactions. Children of couples who take the BBH workshop were shown to: develop the ability to self-soothe, sleep longer, learn complex language earlier, and cry less!
